Certification Levels


Our 6-level certification system ensures that you are placed in a job that matches your skills and experience.

After completing the course, your certification will clearly reflect your level of proficiency, from entry-level to advanced service. This is easily verifiable for prospective employers via our website.

This means you can confidently apply for positions that align with your abilities, making it easier for you to succeed in your chosen role.

  • No prior experience required. Completion of the course indicates participation and a foundational understanding of the curriculum.

  • Has basic experience in bussing and serving, and has completed the course. Lacks practise.

  • Fully understands job requirements, and course material, and is capable of assisting servers effectively. Could be trained as a server in a cafe.


  • Capable of working independently in a small café or as a trainee in a restaurant. Can introduce themselves, take orders, is comfortable carrying two plates and knows how to carry three. Can handle trays and serve drinks, open wine, and communicate with guests.

  • Able to manage a section independently. Can upsell, carry three plates and handle volume in most casual restaurants. Comfortable with the steps of service.


  • Possesses advanced skills in wine service, tray handling, and plate carrying. Equipped to work in fine dining environments or busy establishments.

STAR CERTIFICATION

Each level includes an optional star, indicating progression, homework completion, and mastery of essential guest service techniques like upselling, greeting, and proper communication. A star indicates the student has strong verbal skills.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY ADJUSTMENT

For individuals whose English language skills need further development, a minus may be assigned to their certification level. This indicates that while their technical skills are fine, their communication abilities in English require polishing to confidently handle guest interactions and perform the job effectively. This helps ensure that language proficiency matches their skill level
